Assembly
During assembly, Form Three treated us to a dynamic and thoughtful reenactment of the Roman invasion of Britain. The class showed tremendous dedication in preparing for their performance: learning lines, stepping into characters and mastering the timing of their cues. Their hard work paid off beautifully, with each child contributing to a confident and engaging presentation. It was a joy to see their creativity and teamwork in action. They should be very proud of themselves.
Certificates for children who had gained the most housepoints in their class this last month were presented to Michael, Margaret, Adleena, Daralaye and Eva. Congratulations to them for demonstrating our school values so consistently.
House Points:
Clifton = 604
Sussex = 572
House Captains
The election of House Captains will take place next Friday, so Form Six will be canvassing for votes this coming week.
Uniform Donation
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, the grey, white, and excess navy duffel coats kindly donated by parents have now been passed on to support pupils at a local school. Our sincere thanks go to Mrs Walton for organising this thoughtful initiative and ensuring the coats found a wonderful new home at King Solomon Academy.
Netball Workshop
On Thursday afternoon, Forms Five and Six went off to Avondale Park to play netball with children from Norland Place School. They started by practising some passes and then got into small groups across both school groups. They ended with a mini game of ‘bench ball’. Great fun was had by all. We hope to take part in other activities with them in the future.
Form Six parent meetings
This week, Form Six parents met with Mr Garvey to discuss the children’s progress and to answer any questions regarding the 11+ process.
Parents of other forms will be meeting with their form teachers on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October to discuss the children’s mid-term progress. These 15-minute meetings provide a valuable opportunity to gain an insight into how the children have settled into the school year and are progressing both academically and socially.
Please note that after-school clubs will not run on either day. During the time of the scheduled meetings, children may wait in the dining room under the supervision of a Teaching Assistant.
Online Safety Top Tip
Talk to your child about what they are doing online. Remind them to come and tell a trusted adult if they ever come across something that is inappropriate or worrying them.
In school, our policy is not to mention ‘Scare’ stories- (websites or posts to avoid)as that just drives traffic to sites we don’t want our children to visit.
We recommend the parent safe portal by London Grid for Learning which has links to plenty of advice on all areas of online safety.
