Ms Galligan led the Anti-Bullying Jigsaw assembly today based on the theme ‘The Power of Good’ and the Form Six children confidently shared some of their understanding of bullying, performing a short drama of an example of bullying at the beginning of the assembly. Throughout the assembly many of the children shared their experience and thoughts on the theme. Next week we will aim for all the children to be Positive Role Models of CHS by stamping out Bullying and embracing Kindness.  On Wednesday the 19th November, the children and Staff will come to school in odd socks to encourage children and adults to use their power of good to promote kindness and  courage to stand up for those affected by bullying.

Online Safety

As part of their PSHE and online safety awareness, Form Six joined a ‘live lesson’ hosted via Natterhub, our online learning programme for online safety.

Visit from Mr Bracey

At 11 O’clock on the 11th November (Armistice Day),  the whole school observed a respectful two minutes’ silence, reflecting on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in the Armed Forces. Following this, we were honoured to welcome Mr Bracey, a parent and former member of the Army, who visited us in his military uniform. Mr Bracey shared stories from his time in service and spoke about the importance of remembrance and teamwork. The children were fascinated to see photographs of his platoon and were thrilled to try on some of his camouflage uniform. To finish, Mr Bracey led everyone in some marching drills, which brought great excitement and energy to the day while reminding us all of the discipline and dedication shown by those who serve.

Form Three Trip to The Natural History Museum

Form Three had a fantastic day at the Natural History Museum this week. The children were captivated by the Earthquakes and Volcanoes show, where they had to save the citizens of Volcano Town. They also got hands-on in the Dino Dig workshop, where they explored how fossils are formed. They especially enjoyed handling real fossils and were thrilled to touch an actual meteorite. One of the highlights was riding the giant escalator up to the earthquake simulator, which gave them a real sense of the power of nature.

It was a day full of discovery, excitement and memorable experiences - a great day had by all!

11+ Exams

We extend our very best wishes to our Form Six pupils as they prepare to sit their 11+ examinations. Some of these will take place here at school, while others will see pupils travelling far and wide to their prospective Senior Schools. These tests represent a significant milestone in their academic journey, and we could not be prouder of the dedication, perseverance, and maturity they have shown throughout their preparations. We are confident they will face this challenge with calm assurance and a great sense of purpose. Remember, Form Six – you are far more than a set of results. Good luck, we are all behind you every step of the way!

Roadworks on Connaught Square

As you may be aware Westminster Council has decided to develop a Cycle Route which affects Stanhope Place and Connaught Square.  We have been informed that the phased work in the area  is likely to start from 20th November. Please be aware there may be some disruption to the use of the bicycle stands opposite school and there may be restrictions and / or changes to traffic management.  The school has been given the contact details for a liaison worker.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland opens today and runs through till January.  We would just like to remind everyone that this does lead to increased footfall and traffic around the area.  So keep a watchful eye.

Book Fair in collaboration with Daunt Books

On Wednesday, 26 November we will be holding our annual book fair in collaboration with Daunt Books. The children will also get the opportunity to browse the selection during the day with their classes. This will be the perfect chance to pick up gifts or a cosy weekend read!
