ℯNEWS APRIL, 24 2026

Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Spring break. It has been lovely to see the children return refreshed and ready for the busy and exciting Summer Term ahead. This week has already seen a wonderful start, with plenty of enthusiasm in the classroom and a number of activities to look forward to as the term unfolds. There are a number of key events taking place this term so please do keep reading all the way to the dates for your diary to make a note of these.

New to our school community

Junior One were delighted to welcome two new members to their form this term. Ms Watson, who has taken over from Mrs Wells during her maternity leave, was warmly welcomed back by the children and we were also delighted to welcome Vittoria who started her CHS journey a term early. In addition to our newcomers in Junior One we are also delighted to welcome Raffi in Form One, Sabine in Form Three and Samira and Roxane in Form Four. Now, very close to school capacity, it is wonderful to have such a buzzing and full hive of activity behind the green doors at No. 47!

Ms Galligan’s Jigsaw Assembly

Today’s assembly led by Ms Galligan discussed the new Jigsaw PSHE Puzzle Unit on Relationships. Throughout the Assembly children contributed their thoughts and ideas about what constitutes a healthy relationship and how different relationships, friendships and family can bring both joy and challenges. Then we discussed how screen time can at times have a negative impact on how well we communicate.  Children felt that at times it could make people feel ignored or left out when the person they are spending time with is on their screen.

Form Three and Four Trip to Paddington children’s library

As part of our whole school focus on developing a love of reading and writing, Forms Three and Four will be taking part in a visit to Paddingtons Children’s Library on Tuesday 28th April. The children will get to explore the Library as well as borrow a book which they can take home to read.

Virtual Coffee Morning with Mrs Hampton on 11+

Mrs Hampton is looking forward to seeing parents virtually and invites parents from Forms Four and Five to join her for the first of her summer term virtual coffee mornings. This is the first of three sessions over the next two terms to discuss the 11+ admissions process. Beginning with booking summer Open Days, the session will cover what to expect from the 11+ process along with a number of useful tips along the way.

House Points

At the start of each term the house points are reset back to zero. Miss Cho keeps a tally of the overall points which will be revealed by Mrs Hampton at the end of the school year.

Congratulations to George in Junior One who has already received a Gold Star for Clifton, awarded by Mrs Hampton, worth 10 house points.  Bravo George!

 Clifton = 62 Sussex = 81

Updated School Website

Mrs Hampton spent the Spring Break working hard to review and modernise the school website. Specific thanks go to CHS parents who offered invaluable suggestions, all of which have been taken into account in the new website. If you have not already done so please do take a look and should any of our parents  community wish to contribute to the testimonials page please do not hesitate to drop Mrs Hampton an email Connaught House School
