PShE& RSE

Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) are part of everyday life at Connaught House School.

We follow the Jigsaw Programme, a clear and progressive scheme of work for PSHE and RSE, from Junior One to Form Six. Lessons are designed to build knowledge and skills step by step, helping children respect diversity, understand healthy relationships, and develop the resilience they need to flourish.

The programme includes mindfulness and fully incorporates the statutory RSE requirements introduced in 2020. It prepares children for life by helping them to value who they are, form positive relationships and adapt with confidence to a changing world.

PSHE and RSE are not limited to lessons: they are woven throughout school life in assemblies, subject teaching, themed days, and special weeks, ensuring a consistent and holistic approach to personal development.

Our Aims…

To be mindful and have the knowledge to be compassionate to others.

To develop strong emotional literacy skills.

To have coping strategies for challenging situations. (new to school, falling out with friendship groups, exams, disappointments ect..)

To be respectful and have an opinion.

To provide an equal opportunity for each child to develop the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the world we live in and be prepared for the future.
